I had a dream
about a gorilla
in a pew--
caged,
surrounded by organ pipe,
bars, eyed by
the virgin keeper,
babe laughing,
watching for antics.
The big gray was
frantic in repose,
scratched stubble
and pawed among primitive
rubble for bright tokens
to drive
the jungle night away.
