Pathological Lying: Case Studies
(These case studies were sent to by Osric University by Internet users and by no means reflect the research of Osric University scholars.)
Desc. of 67-year-old male pathological liar:
...Things seemed to come to a head a couple years ago when he was involved
in an automobile accident, when his stories became very unbelievable. I
will relate a couple of them to you. He said he had stopped at his
insurance office, regarding paperwork, and being frustrated, told the
receptionist to "go to hell, that I'm going home and shoot myself". He said
he went home and the sheriff pulled up, and wanted to take him away. He
refused to go, and then the sheriff came back to check on him. I called the
sheriff's office, and they knew who he was, and hadn't been there.
Then, he was taking care of my daughter's cat for a short time. He
told me he had gotten full of bacteria from the cat, and had cat hair in him
stomach. Said he went to the emergency room, and they took x-rays, and saw
the hair in his stomach, and gave him some pills, which made him throw up
green and white worms.
A week ago, he looked me in the eye, and told me this story. Two men
he knew went to a house to do a wiring job. When the one man walked in the
door, he tripped, and heard a squeal. Said he tripped over an animal that
was six inches long, had no hair, a sharp snout, and looked like a baloon
filled with blood. Said the blood squirted all over, and four more animals
came out of the walls and lapped up the blood. They captured two of the
animals, and took them for testing. The tests show they were an animal
called a chip, and they are from Montana.
